Fix Google Cloud Storage not Working
Why Are Videos In Google Drive Not Playing?
If Google Drive is not playing movies while playing, the error is usually caused by the application or the browser. Yet, it is sometimes due to the computer system's hardware. You will learn about the software and hardware that can cause the Google Drive video problem here.
Browser Version: Google is constantly upgrading its settings to match market demands. This could be why the movie won't play on Google Drive because, after updating, the older version no longer has complete functionality.
Third-party Plug-in: A plug-in or extension that you install on your web browser alters its performance. Unfortunately, occasionally the newly introduced feature clashes with the browser's default functionality. That could also be the cause of Google Drive's inability to play videos.
File Properties: Google Drive does not support older and less-popular video formats. It will not be able to play incompatible file formats.
The maximum video resolution supported by Google Drive is 1920*1080p. Any video that is larger than this resolution will not load or play on it.
Internet Speed: To play video in your cloud storage, Google Drive requires a steady and high-speed internet connection. You cannot play video with a sluggish internet connection or a fluctuating network.
RAM: Google creates files for playing videos in your device's temporary memory. If your Memory is insufficient or too much, the video will take too long to load or will not load at all.
Router Configuration: Newer internet routers include internet limiters and security protocols. These features may prohibit the opening of huge or non-scannable files.
Common Solutions to Google Drive Videos Not Playing
Step 1: Use an online speed tester to determine your internet speed. If the speed is satisfactory, skip the following steps and move to the second solution. But, if the speed is producing problems, continue with the procedures below.
Step 2: Reset the router and modern. Switch them off for a few minutes before restarting. It is also possible to reset their default settings.
Step 3: Inspect the LAN cable that connects your modem router and system. If none of them work, contact your network operator about the slowness. If you reach the proper speed, the movie will play; if not, try the other troubleshooting steps.
